Privacy Policy

Summary

TakeHome runs entirely in your browser. Your pay, filing status and deductions are not transmitted to us: there is no account, no server-side calculation and no database holding your figures. What we keep is limited to what you choose to send by email, the technical logs any web host writes, and — if advertising is enabled and you accept — your cookie choice.

Information we collect

• What you send us. Anything you put in an email to induk1@hotmail.com.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider and CDN automatically record IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested URLs and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention and reliability. These records are not linked to your calculator inputs, because those inputs never reach the server.
• Your cookie choice. The single key takehome-consent, written to this browser’s local storage only when advertising is enabled and you make a choice.

Calculator inputs

Not stored. Salary, state, filing status and deduction amounts live in JavaScript memory for the length of the page session and are discarded when you leave. They are never written to a cookie, to local storage, or to any endpoint — there is no request to write them to.

The site sets no first-party analytics, session-replay or fingerprinting scripts, and does not build a profile of your visits.

Cookies and advertising

When advertising is off — the default until an ad account is connected — this site sets no cookies at all.

When advertising is on, ads are served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure how those ads performed. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit. Declining in the consent banner does not remove ads — it keeps them non-personalized.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of it. Residents of California have the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not sell personal information. If advertising is enabled, the use of advertising cookies can be treated as “sharing” for that purpose — you can opt out using the consent banner or the links above.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, advertising cookies are read or written only after you accept them in the banner; before that, the ad script is told advertising storage is denied.

Do Not Track: there is no accepted standard for it, so it is not honoured as a consent signal. The banner and the opt-out links above do the same job, reliably.

Children and changes

This site is not directed at children under 13, and — where a higher age applies, such as the EEA — under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has emailed us, write and we will delete the message.

This policy may be revised. The date at the top of the page is updated whenever it changes; material changes will be stated there rather than buried in a diff.
